HEIDI {ONGOING}.:..:: Story: Heidi, Girl of the Alps (??, Arupusu no Sh??jo Heidi) is a an anime series (part of the World Master Piece Theater) released by the animation studio Zuiyo Eizo (which later became Nippon Animation) in 1974. It was directed by Isao Takahata (Miyazaki's friend at Ghibli studio) and features Yoichi Kotabe (character design and animation director), Hayao Miyazaki (scene design and layout). The series is based on the Heidi children's book, which Swiss author Johanna Spyri wrote in 1880. Heidi after becomming an orphan is forced to live with her grandfather Öhi who lives in the mountain Alps. However he is a very bitter man who only accepts to take her in by force. Heidi's kindness may be able to open Öhi's heart. Along with Peter the goat carer and the crippled Klara, Heidi with start to love the swiss alps. But Heidi's aunt, Dete, will intrude herself into Heidi's education...
